FAQ
What kind of wood is our tree made of?
The branches of our trees are made of willow. Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this question for the tree disc and base, because we use different types of wood. The reason for this is that we try not to cut down any trees for our product. So we use regional wood from trees that would be felled anyway (e.g. due to land consolidation or because they endanger public safety).
What is the difference between our two models of sustainable wooden Christmas trees?
There are two models: grove and clearing.
Our grove model is the perfect alternative to a traditional Christmas tree. Its evenly spaced branches make it a real eye-catcher that fills the room without needing a lot of decorations.
Our model “Glade” is perfect for anyone who likes to lavishly decorate their Christmas tree. Its appealing design, in which every second branch is shorter, gives you more space for your Christmas decorations. You can also set it up in a 2D form against a wall, for example.
Where and how are our sustainable wooden Christmas trees produced?
Our Christmas trees are handmade in the beautiful city of Dresden, known as the Florence on the Elbe.
Is the wood treated with pesticides?
Our wooden Christmas tree is made of sustainable and pesticide-free wood from the region.
How do I set up my new wooden Christmas tree?
You can watch how to set up your sustainable Christmas tree in our video tutorial or refer to the assembly instructions included with every order. These are also available for download here.
How should I store my wooden Christmas tree?
For a long life of your wooden Christmas tree, please always store it in a dry and well-ventilated place.
How long can I use my wooden Christmas tree for?
Our wooden Christmas trees are very durable indoors. We believe that with proper storage and careful use, the trees can be an eye-catcher for decades at Christmas (possibly comparable to a Schwibbogen or Christmas pyramid). Our oldest tree is almost 10 years old and still as beautiful as on the first day.
The base plate of my wooden Christmas tree has a crack. Is that normal?
Cracks are normal in tree discs (see product photos). They occur when the wood dries due to the water escaping from the pores of the wood. Once the tree slice is cracked, it usually does not crack any further. The stability of the tree is not endangered. If something should be wrong, please contact us.
Can I also put my sustainable wooden Christmas construction outside?
In principle, you can also set up your wooden Christmas tree outside, but this will be at the expense of its durability. Our wood is untreated. Moisture, UV radiation, insects and fungi would slowly but surely affect the wood. When setting it up outside, we recommend choosing a location that is protected from the weather.
